We've just finished up at the first ever JoomlaDay Austria in Vienna! Held over 2 great days on November 20th and 21st, around 60 attendees from Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Netherlands attend the venue called „das Modul“. As has been the norm throughout 2015 at JoomlaDay events, there were plenty of high-caliber, interesting and engaging sessions. Some of the noteworthy ones from memory were Marco Dings from the Joomla PLT presenting the plans around Joomla 4, Stefan Polzer from
Vienna doing a great session about using com_ajax in Joomla, and Sigrid and David showing the audience whats possible with
Joomla! core. Of course, these are just a few - there were many more interesting topics throughout the weekend!
I held a workshop about SEBLOD, similar to the one at J!Day
Hamburg - this time with a „superheroe“ topic. There were many interesting questions, and so unfortunately we weren't able to complete everything planned during the workshop. We hope to follow this up with some online training materials in the near future.
There was a raffle at the end of the event with books, an acymailing subscription and yubikeys as prizes. We also celebrated 10 years of Joomla with cake!
All in all it was a very nice event. It was particularly nice to meet an
Austrian SEBLODer "AUT_eddy". Later in the evening, one of
the attendees (Roland Neissl) showed us his developed site
bierserver.at - An Austrian beer related
website with a svg color matching fan. Awesome work!
Thank you Sigrid and her team for great Organisation at the Event. I'm looking forward to seeing Austria have many more successful JoomlaDays in future! See you next year.
