New Release 3.9
Extensive Cleaning - Part 1
Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of SEBLOD 3.9.0.
As planned this release was mostly dedicated to improve the code base, by:
  • dropping Joomla! 2.5 support
  • dropping PHP 5.2 support
  • updating jQuery/javascript code
  • removing as much as possible deprecated stuff
Of course, we've included a few great improvements such as:
  • Match mode automation (multiple vs single selection)
  • A process to force (increment) a suffix for existing/identical "alias" on submission (Joomla! Article and Joomla! Category)
  • Various issues fixed
This version is also a security release, and so we encourage you to update your sites.

SEBLOD Store:
More than twenty extensions have been recently updated to fit with the new changes included in SEBLOD 3.9, but we are going to highlight only one of them, because it gets a pretty cool major update: SEBLOD Fields Restriction Plugin

As you may know, this restriction plug-in lets you choose to display or hide a field (1) based on the value of another field (2).
The initial version gave you the ability to compare (2) with one or more static values.
The new version introduces the ability to compare (2) with dynamic values as well.
ex: you can now compare the publication date (2) of an Article against the value of the User's profile field.
This feature uses our Live capability, and so.. all Live plug-ins are natively and automatically supported. Cool, right?

We also added a new comparison mode to the plug-in to be able to compare dates (Future / Past).

What's next?
  • We're going to open new 3rd-party stores from the community next week, and we'll highlight them in separated blog posts.
  • We'll be releasing a major update of Maps Template, new SEBLOD Apps, and new Object Plug-ins, this month.
  • Our private GitHub repository dedicated to our Free Extensions will become public, this month as well.
  • With SEBLOD 3.10.0, we will continue to clean/remove PHP code (still related to the fact we dropped PHP 5.2 support)

If you use SEBLOD for your projects, please consider giving us a star on GitHub.
This will help the project move forward! Thank you, enjoy!, and please publish your websites & work on our Showcase.

Thanks for the latest update. Especially for the improved alias handling - the old behaviour was very frustrating. Please keep up the good work!
