Hello.

I'm hoping there is an easy way to record the date and time that is = now and then subtract 8 hrs from it. If so, I can set up an additional field for this.

I keep seeing this issue in several posts here which is ... Joomla seems to record UTC, ie GMT  -- No matter what you might set in your php.ini file. Is this true?

The offset in the global config is ONLY for display purposes.

My web host said we could use a VPS and alter the time on the server so Joomla records PST in the database (in effect) -- seem like a viable global solution, no?

I have the problem because if I do a search of the Article Created date I get posts recorded in GMT.

My client who does a search for all the posts from today has to include 2 days because of the way Joomla records time.

It would seem to me that many of us doing searches in Seblod have this problem.

I would think the solution is in the Code Pack (http://www.seblod.com/products/1854).

Any contributors? Thanks in advance!

Time in Seblod depends on timezone setting in php ini as it uses php function time. For calendar calculations see attached tutorial.

So how can I get the current time in the calendar field?

I thought I read, you can add "now" to the default value. I tried "now()" also, but get nothing ... thx!

Neve rmind I see this post describes how, http://www.seblod.com/community/forums/fields-plug-ins/fields-date-birthday-old
