Is it possible to have a FieldX in a content type that then is used in a GroupX field? I tried that with the result that the content type works on itself in the site form edit mode but when displayed as the GroupX field in the edit form of the main content type the FieldX fields do not show up but the word "Array" is displayed. Any hint?

Anything X inside X won't work, javascript would be just too complicated.
I made a content type that is called by a groupX. That worked when I first displayed the main content type that holds that groupX in the front end edit mode. When I now change something in the groupX content type, the main content type does not reflect these changes in edit mode. In display mode the changes are applied oddly enough. Why is that? There is no cache issue on my site.
It is not clear from your description what is working and what not, some screenshots would help.
I started over again and now it works as expected. Could not figure out what was wrong. Thanks anyway.
