Hello,

I'm beginner with Seblod and discovering the big potential of this cck. I have a basic question about the introtext field. Do you know a way to set this field introtext by default with the XXX first characters of the full text field. I'm used to work like this for example with wordpress using an existing parameters to cut the fulltext in a list with a defined number of characters.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Dom-78,

Welcome to the SEBLOD forum.  Please take a moment to review the documentation in the Manuals section. It would also be helpful for you to be familiar with the SEBLOD storage methodology in this tutorial and videos.

Have a look at this post.

Randy

You could pull only so many characters into your list or intro view by using the fulltext field and applying this Typography plugin to it.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your help, I think I have the solution with SD databaser or typography plugin. It was too a good opportunity for me to discover the Joomla introtext field deeper with this topic:http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2025985

Seems that the introtext is the main content field for joomla. So, if I have only one content field to use it is introtext field and not the fulltext as I thought at the beginning, right ?

Regards,

Dom.

Hi Dom,

When you create a Content Type, you can use any field that you want - SEBLOD will manage the rest for you. At the minimum, having the category and article title helps keep things organized - but still not a requirement.

Without SEBLOD, the introtext is used for the Read More options.  But SEBLOD uses the introtext field to store the Content Type information.

In most cases, my forms don't even have an introtext or a fulltext field.
