I managed to display a list of all articles for a user called "my articles" which includes published and unpublished ones. On my site an author is not allowed to change the status (un-/published) but he needs to be able to edit and preview his article regardles of published or unpublished. Currently they can edit an unpublished article but they cannot view it - when they hit the save button and the article is supposed to be displayed they get a 404 error. How will I let my authors preview their not yet by a publisher published articles?

This is joomla acl limitation, there is no view.own action as Joomla view is managed by not-s-good viewlevels.
