Hi everyone!

First of all I want to say thank you for such a great component and wish good luck in its development.

As a beginner, I have many questions about the settings. Of course, I looked through all the video tutorials, however, deal with all the nuances pretty hard.

So. I am wondering whether it is possible to create the content type based on "created_by_alias" field?

I have a website based on a standard com_content. Materials created by one user - administrator, and their authorship is displayed using aliases. I want to create user profiles based on those aliases so that each alias referring to the author's profile. To be able to display in materials not only a author's alias, and a photo of the author, his last articles, etc. In other words, make aliases full user profiles.

I understand that I need to create seblod based user profiles. I even got to do a link of the author of the material (Article Created By) to his profile - thanks to this topic. Now I would like to make reference profiles in the materials, which are listed under the aliases authorship of a single user. How to match certain "created_by_alias" - a certain user profile. With the display of the latest materials I need to understand thanks to the James Morrell lessons.

Sorry for my English)

Hi.

Probably no one understood me ...

Anyone knows how to extract the article ID by "created_by_aliace" value (or by "art_created_by_aliace field")?

Thanks.

Hi

I am not providing an answer as I am a beginner myself, but is this tutorial not relevant?

Bucklash, thank you for the answer.

This lesson I've seen , but I have is slightly different task. I need to make a reference to the author profile from the materials that already have aliases. I get a list of all authors, but I need the one , which corresponds to an created_by_alias field.

Solved as follows:

1. Create a content type of the authors (based on article content type).

2. Create several "profiles" of authors who have the appropriate aliases.

3. Create a search type for articles in which aliases match the authors content type aliases.

4. Now, in an article, you can display the author "profile" in the module (list field).
