Random and shuffle order for list and search would be great addition to Seblod, especially for a directory charging a set fee for posting entries. It doesn’t seem fair to charge the same fee for a listing that starts with the letter A from one that starts with letter Z, as A will always be first in A-Z order.

I would be interested in this feature.

Generally when you wish to use random or shuffle it's not to display a complete list but a defined set of items.

That's why you can do this by a module.

Please explain us in which case you need this feature directly on a list and by the SEBLOD module list.

I am building a directory where clients can pay to have their business listed. When a visitor does a search for ‘care homes in London’ for example, the search might display 300 paid listings on the template. The random function means that I can explain to clients that although they all pay the same fee to have their business listed, the search function randomises the order they appear, even if I split the listings into more than one page. This would make it fair for everyone.

If I use the module, I would have one page with 300 listings, plus I would need to find a way to hide the listings that show on the template so they don’t repeat. (see image for example)
