I installed Joomla 2.5.11. I need managing multiple sites with one installation of Joomla. Each site needs to have its own administrator with access to his own backend.
SEBLOD seems perfect, but the problem is that I need URL of subsites of type http://mydomain/site1, http://mydomain/site2, .... instead of virtual hosts http://site1.mydomain, http://site2.mydomain
I wanted to try anyway, and installed SEBLOD according of your documentation. For the first subsite, I set up the URL at http://bacasable.irit.fr/site1 . Then to redirect this URL to the root of the main site, I used an Alias in httpd.conf. But the 2 sites : main and site1 are identical and it does not seem to work, or perhaps have I missed something.

had a look at something like this some time ago and did not think was possible. would have to be htaccess based we thought and also seblod able to understand. we did not proceed.
checkout drupal with mutli sites it can do it.

So, Why you need the virtual host domain?!?
Hev you tried yet with:
- Set a redirection in your CPanel from http://mydomain/site1 to http://mydomain
- Create the subsite http://mydomain/site1 in Seblod
- Set the Home menu link for your subsite with alias site1 so in the URL you'll have http://mydomain/site1
- Create the Category site1 and put all under that Category, and be careful to show category in the URL
