Hello,

I get a lot of unwanted links in Google Index.

Most of them are category links with the category id appended, e.g.:

/11-seminar-angebote-termine.html‎, where 11 is the cat id and then the cat name.

I cannot find those links anywhere on my site or in the XML sitemap and don't know how they got indexed by Google.

Now I'm trying to find out where they come from. I suspect they are generated by Seblod somehow.

Do any of you have the same problem and a fix for it?

After digging deeper in the joomla forum I found that Joomla is producing these URLs, not necessarily Seblod.

But still, if you know what to do about it, please share. Thank you.

Hi Gerhard,

I think this might be the underling issue for several problems that people are encountering.  This may be the solution.

thanks,

Great link, Randy. Thank you.

I hope that new router will make it into Joomla stable release.

Cheers

Hi Gerhard!

It looks like they made their first goal!  If you contribute to the project, estimated delivery is June 2014.

It does appear that it will make it into the next Joomla release too!  :)

Yep, I contributed 20 bucks to get the plugin when it is released. Really looking forward to this.

Hey gebeer!  I'm going to contribute to this project as well.  Can you help me to understand something though: will we need to run Joomla 2.5 to benefit from this plugin?  Do you think the plugin will work with Seblod?
Thanks!

Hi kwoychesko,

This will run on both 2.5 and 3.x as stated here:

I also plan to code more URL styles and create a plugin from all of this to backport this improvement to Joomla 2.5. This means you can get this feature as soon as the code is ready and boost your site right away. The goal is to get this into the next version of Joomla (preferably 3.5) and when the project accepts this change, we all profit from this. This also means, that this code needs to be backwards compatible to the current code, which so far I have been able to make sure....
It will also be compatible with SEBLOD - Octopoos has contributed to the project...

thanks,

Randy

Hi Randy -- thanks for the clarification, I found the wording confusing so I couldn't be sure.  And great to know Octopoos contributed... makes me very comfortable!
Thanks!

This will only be the solution if the Seblod router.php works well together with the new Joomla router.

At the moment this is not the case. Which leads to problems when we try using SEF components to get rid off duplicate content.

With Seblod/Joomla alone this seems not to be possible. At least there's no way that I know of.

If anyone knows how to solve duplicate content issues on a Seblod installation, please report here. Thanks.

Hi.I have a lot of projects based on seblod and joomla which designed for seo and i never got problems with duplicated content. But the main condition is that you does not using default joomla breadcrumbs, categories module and other things wcich can parse links by defaul joomla router. Try RSSeo for managing redirection.

FYI: the creator of the new proposed Joomla router has posted an update.  Still time to contribute to help this project along:

Hello,

does anybody know, if the issue is solved and if the new router is implemented in current Joomla version?

I still have the same issue as Gerhard described in his first post: google indexes a lot ot strange URLs with IDs in the URL (Seblod-router is configured to only use aliases)

Regards

Sven
