I need to keep form inputs while filtering a list, without saving, and missing the forest through the trees.... Little confusing, hm?

So: I've got a form for product storages. On the form's page there's a product list as module. The user can filter the list to find his product. After filtering, that means submitting the search form, some fields of the input form are filled out with the content of the list via Javascript.

My problem: If some fields of the input form are filled out already and the search form of my product list is being changed, the site reloads - but the input form is empty.

How can I pass input fields' values without saving the form to a reloaded page?
